Traditional Sailing Yacht

S/Y Agios Nikolaos

Discover Patmos by Sea — Our traditional sailing yacht is a one-of-a-kind authentic boat experience . Explore the Dodecanese in style with tailor-made private day charters, fully equipped with captain and crew.

A private boat charter in Patmos offers one of the most rewarding ways to experience the island's natural beauty. Away from crowds, the coastline reveals secluded coves, dramatic cliffs, crystal-clear waters and hidden swimming spots accessible only by sea.

S/Y Agios Nikolaos is a 19 meter sailing yacht built in 1928 in Skopelos with a traditional Greek "Karavoskaro" hull design. One of the last of its kind, S/Y Agios Nikolaos is now designated a heritage protected monument by the Greek Ministry of Culture, reserving an important part of Greece's maritime history.

Our full-day luxury boat rental excursions from Patmos are tailored to weather conditions and guest preferences. Cruising beyond the main harbours and popular shores, guests can enjoy complete privacy and access to locations reachable only by boat. Popular routes include the uninhabited islets surrounding Patmos and the tranquil bays of Arkoi and Marathi, two small neighbouring islands renowned for their traditional Greek atmosphere and exceptional natural beauty.

An optional catered lunch is available on board.

For ultimate comfort, the sailing yacht is best suited to a maximum of 10 guests.

HISTORY:

From 1929 until WW2, Agios Nikolaos was operated as a cargo vessel under sail power only. After the war it was refitted with its current 1949 Mercedes engine to serve as a fishing boat. It wasn't until 1997 that it was finally refitted to a gaf-rigged Schooner and has been used ever since as a private sailing yacht.
