Traditional Sailing Yacht
S/Y Agios Nikolaos
Agios Nikolaos is a 19 meter sailing yacht built in 1928 in Skopelos with a traditional Greek "Karavoskaro" hull design. From 1929 until WW2 it was operated as a cargo vessel under sail power only. After the war it was refitted with its current 1949 Mercedes engine to serve as a fishing boat. It wasn't until 1997 that it was finally refitted to a gaf-rigged Schooner and has been used ever since as a private sailing yacht. One of the last of its kind and declared, S/Y Agios Nikolaos is now designated a heritage protected monument by the Greek Ministry of Culture.
